Saving Youtube Videos 

If you find that these videos don't play well, perhaps because your internet connection is not fast enough, why not download the clips on to your computer. To do this follow these instructions.

On the internet go to www.keepvid.com . The top of the screen should look something like this (without the ticks and crosses).

Step 1:
Youtube uses 'flash video' for its streamed videos, therefore you need a 'flash video' player to view these videos on your computer. On the keepvid.com webpage, go to Click Here for a Free FLV Player. (Shown with a tick on the screen shot above.) Download this free software Leave a shortcut icon on your computer desktop if possible.

Step 2:
Paste one of the web addresses shown at the bottom of this page. (eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnGzYbcg55c ) into the address bar on  keepvid.com. (See screen shot above). Click the download button on the right, shown with a tick on the picture.
A message like this will appear:

Click the download button.  Make sure you Save to Disc and remember where you save it!  Downloading should begin and it will take several minutes to complete.

Step 3:
The downloaded video will be called get_video. Right click this name and rename it something like: Carnival.flv. The .flv is important because it tells the computer that it is a flash video and the correct player will then be selected.

Step 4:
Finally, double click on the Carnival.flv icon and the video should start playing. The quality should be much better than it was via Youtube.
