ANDREW MORRIS JONES

 Sample Image

Andrew is a promising young athlete from Aberffraw who is making a name for himself in the world of junior athletics. He began training at the age of 8, and is currently a member of the Menai Track & Field Treborth. He now gets opportunities to race in the Cheshire League with the club and takes part in either the 800m or 1500m races. After gaining good results throughout the year, he was chosen to represent Wales in the mini London marathon for which he collected donations of £800 for Alaw Ward, Ysbyty Gwynedd. He came 92nd out of over 300 runners. Listed below is his impressive record, and hopefully he will continue with his achievements, and put Anglesey on the athletic map.

The club was reformed in 2008. Most players are from the village and a couple from the surrounding villages. It all started with a few lads going to play 5-a-side in Llangefni every week and soon developed into entering a team in the North Gwynedd & Anglesey Sunday League. Aberffraw currently play in Cae Cob in Malltraeth where Glantraeth Juniors are based. The club is very proud that we have been sponsored by Trac Mon/ Anglesey Circuit who have supplied our new kits.
